Which Hayom Yom do you read/learn today?

I heard someone in LA once announced on this kviis that there is no Hayom Yom today and the Rosh said, "what do you mean? There are two!"

Heard that firsthand.

After Shachris this morning someone said there is no Hayom Yom today, so ask asked him whether today is not a day?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

But is it 6-7 on the clock or is it adjusted for when real noon is in your area?

And is it only red wine or white wine too?

https://asktherav.com/3350-why-do-some-people-not-drink-red-wine-between-6-and-7-on-friday/

An interesting article about this, both the English and Hebrew discusses many points. It mentions here, that there is reasoning to say it will apply to making kiddush on challah as well.

FWIU the reason it’s not so wide spread is because the Aruch Hashulchan strongly protests the idea that מאדים would pose a problem to yidden. After all אין מזל לישראל. And especially on shabbos there is extra shmira.

Some people say
and right away make kiddush.

Wow this article hits the nail right on the head! Once upon a time I spent a lot of time on this subject and came to the conclusion that the main reason was bec. of the malachim etc. as described in this article, which takes care of the problem I presented above. He provides a very rich trove of מראה מקומות to go along.
Never quite understood the Aruch Hashulchans take on this. We say מעין שבע friday night because of mazikim problems so obviously Shabbos isn't enough shmira for that. Some Rishonim even say that is directly related to מאדים as referenced in the article.
@M3B3LY Thanks for sharing!

Are these legit?
Will the Chabad library bid on them?

https://genazym.bidspirit.com/?appVersion=3.5.1661#items_list~2~search~615___Chabad
almost certainly will not bid on it in auction.
And I'm sure authenticity is a big question.

Leading bid is close to a half million dollars, I'm sure people doing their homework when selling and purchasing for such amounts.

I'm not into these things so I don't know details, but people did spend plenty on forgeries, though it seems this particular auction house is more reliable.

Pretty sure I read that the policy is not to buy anything for the library, others can buy privately and donate if they so choose.

There's a quote from the frierdiker Rebbe that I saw recently (can't remember where) as to the number of kisvei yad of the alter Rebbe outside of his possession (I belive the number was 8 ).

Lmaseh, the provenance listed here ends a few generations ago.

Interesting. I wonder why not seek donations to fund purchases of rare items like this, if they are authenticated of course?

Have you ever heard the story and the מהר"ם מרוטנבורג? While a letter sent to someone might have legitimate owners, who is the legitimate owner of the Rebbe Rashab's manuscripts?
