Flew UA EWR-BRU was delayed by 6 1/2 hrs due to weather/maintenance, then cancelled due to maintenance. Was placed on brussels airlines the next day from JFK. However, my bags weren't released, because the missing baggage counter was closed for the night. I was given a choice to either A) come and retrieve my bag from newark in the morning' B) fly the next day without my things,when I arrive in brussels put in a missing bags claim and they will then send the bags to brussels. My bags arrived 2 days later. Is this a DOT complaint case or should I just write an email complaint to united?
