Is wagyu a type of lettuce
I hope not, otherwise I'm gonna be footing a big bill when @Yehuda57 makes it there.

Any DDF Tabernacle wagyu and sushi reviews?

https://www.facebook.com/groups/gkrfoodies/permalink/2383998505119446/
In the past few weeks, I've had Tabernacle Wagyu Rib Eye and Denver. Both were good, with the Denver being phenomenal (though cooked incorrectly), but like most other steaks it wasn't much difference than making Wagyu at home.

Tabernacle roll is good, the other roll I got was nothing to write home about. I think Matsuda Osaka Roll is the best sushi in the city now.

Correct.

Opening Nov 19, Resy page is up.

Owner is receptive to feedback re Kashrus level but for now the reservations are pouring in

I’m on a Kashrus WhatsApp chat & 4 times in the past 2 days ppl asked if Malka - NKS is approved  - answer was no. Would be nice to get that message over to them.

If they have other successful non-Kosher establishments then maybe they don’t feel like they need a better hashgacha.

That may be true although if they’re doing kosher this time maybe they’re willing to do it right… & maybe it would only be a good try if it’s done right…

The vast majority of modern orthodox people eat NKS. You will find them on the OZ and KJ shul lists, even for meat.

I've spoken to many "black hatters" who would eat NKS I don't know how much incentive there is to pay for a higher standard

That’s obviously subjective as I said I saw the q asked 4 times in 2 days by what I wouldn’t consider black hatters. Regardless is that the entire difference- the price?

It it right, perhaps not for you...
Kol hakavod toyour 'higher' standards but NKS is a popular Hashgacha in that area & for their clientele so why would they change anything?

I would also imagine a higher standard is harder to maintain

This was in no way supposed to be an insult to anybody. Follow the conversation - somebody mentioned they’re open to hearing feedback in regards to their kashrus.  As I said earlier there are many ppl who don’t eat it & you will not get a proper trial of kosher with it. Sorry if you disagree with my use of the word right.

All good.
I'm sure there are 'better' and 'worse' Hashgachas. They want to open a Glatt Kosher restaurant and are kudos to them.

I was in the room when the owner of Malka called a rabbi to ask what NKS is and if people trust it.

The bottom line is the restaurant is packed and he has little incentive to change things.

Im sure the restaurant would be packed if he was non kosher too... I dont see what that has to do with anything.

It is full of observant Jews who observe Kashrus.

Yes, as many non kosher restaurants are busy too.

Eyal specifically said that he wants to open a kosher restaurant to allow that demographic the opportunity to dine at one of his establishments.

Obviously not everything is for everyone but let's be thankful and not nitpick.

FWIW, I spoke to someone in kashrus who looked into it and said that Malka and Sabas West Side are 100% mehadrin min hamehadrin but that all NKS places should be looked into individually.

Obviously, everyone should ask their own authority.
