I figured that even this thread can have a wiki.
If your computer or phone is giving you issues:

• Please read this before posting: 4 Reasons Why IT People Ignore Your Requests for Help
• Restart the computer. Hopefully this will take care of any issues
• If your problem has not yet been solved, try to Google it. There may be a very simple solution
• On a Windows computer, a system restore may do the trick.
(This is a work in progress, please feel free to add whatever you may feel is helpful)

How does it compare to eset (paid)?
eset paid is amazing. free malwarebytes doesn't compare as an antivirus, but is great for doing a scan a month.

Trying connect to a printer thats connected via USB to another computer in same network. I set up Sharing of the printer but every time  I try to connect to add it I get the 0x0000011B error can anyone advise how to resolve this?

make sure the printer is shared properly and then restart the computer. try it then.

done that quite a few times made sure updates are all done as well

sometimes you need to download the drivers/program for the printer on the second computer as well. did you do that?

I have a Thinkpad which it seems the screen brightness setting stopped working. I believe it randomly after in middle of using once I noticed the screen blink and reverted to a bigger scale setting then my preferred percent.

I tried reinstall drivers etc. any other ideas?

Thru windows recovery, clean install, download from cloud

I bought this from dell https://www.productindetail.com/pn/dell-vostro-3400 Its working really slow, every program i want to open takes ages, there is nothing installed other than windows and word, Is it just a write off or something i can do about it ?

check the task manager and see which thing is maxxed out. Is it the CPU, the RAM, or the Hard drive? (or none of the above)

Sorry I'm not to good at this, when i click on chrome for example, it could take ten minutes before it opens, so how and when would i check the above on task manager ?
