A couple program are enabled in startup that I'm unsure what they are. They all show as either high or medium impact on startup? Which can I disable from startup?
True Color?
Realtek HD Audio Manager?
persistence module by Intel?
Logitech Download Assistant?
hkcmd Module?
HD Audio Background Process?
Dell Display Manager?
Delayed launcher by Intel?
Btmshellex?

But my real problem is that the computer often sounds like it's working, even when I'm just reading a website. And at times it's really slow.

I uninstalled my old anti-virus ( I think it was Avast) and installed Kaspersky and ran a scan. They found 2 adware that I deleted. The computer seemed marginally better for a very short while. Then it started having periods of being really slow again. and these periods are more frequent. And it just started it's 'running' think again.

What do I do?

Try running malwarebytes and ccleaner also make sure updates are running and uninstall old and junk programs

Also C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Anything I delete from the above menu will not affect startup?

The list that comes up if I enter the above address, are those apps the ones that run on startup of my pc? If so, can I delete them from that list and it'll no longer have impact on my startup?

Those are some of the apps that run when you turn on your PC (follow avromie7's post to see the others). If you delete them from that folder, they will no longer run when you turn it on. (You are not uninstalling those programs, just deleting their shortcuts that were created in the startup folder).

BTW, if you ever want an app to run when you turn on your computer, you can just put a shortcut to it in that folder.

What are the benefits and/or shortcomings of having or not having them run upon startup?

Benefit of having something run? If you want it to.

Of not havign something run? Everything that is running slows down your computer (some more and some less). So if you don't need it running...

If it's an app that you use, and want to have running in the background.

Example: a screenshot app like sharex.

Suppose every day you have to start your workday by entering data into an Excel spreadsheet. You put a shortcut to it in Startup and save yourself the daily clicks.

Let's see if anyone can answer this. I have an old IBM Thinkcentre 6075-a5u that has an 80gb drive, model number WD800JD-08MSA1. I would like to replace it with at least double the capacity. Any ideas?

What's the issue? Any 3.5" SATA should work, no?
