HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

That's what you keep blabbering. Yet you come with no hard proof.
Just continuing the subject from yesterday.
No hard feeling!!

Can we come out with an official sarcastic font?
There is plenty of proof just not shared with the basic user

People who don't read these threads on DDF aren't very likely to do these things.

I would be surprised if many ppl on DDMS would think of doing this. I think you will just be giving more people the idea in the first place.

Might be worth throwing out there in seminars though (I haven't attended any yet so not sure if you already do).

If I did just 6K in AA spending, the rest were MS, am I less likely to be triggered?

Why do you think only people on here can come up with something like that ? Its not like its been discussed here.

I have plenty of friend not here on the forums who have done this before.

The main site has too much exposure. It would almost seem as if Dansdeals in a way recommended the refundable ticket trick and is now saying it's been backfiring. Even if you say you never recommended it, which is true, putting in a warning may imply otherwise.

DDF followers have already been warned (in this thread) and the DDMS followers who aren't reading this thread might include some experts, you're right. But I would bet it definitely includes a massive following of people who just dabble in the CC game - not experts at all - just people who lightly peruse the site mostly looking for the next airline glitch or random clothing deal, and it might cause more hard than good by bringing this technicality to such a large audience.

Why would people do what was just warned would be cause for a lifetime ban?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hmm. I guess if you frame it strongly that way, they won't.

I still think its worth it if you are going to save a handful (if not more) of people.

You see every comment on the Main Site.
Just from glancing over it, half the people do not read the entire post.
you think this would be any different? ;)

In my opinion, don't post about it in more than vague terms until the crackdown is in full force.
We never know how big the crackdown will actually be and we don't want extra exposure.
AA also officially closes accounts who sold miles and most/many people still get away with it.

Yeah I changed my stance, I'm for it if the language is strong enough. Especially since it was previously on the main site - it could be an update into the "FAQ" from those comments IIRC lol.

NOOOOO!
Don't bring more attention to it.
The more attention = The worse the result is likely to be.

People who don't read these threads on DDF aren't very likely to do these things.

DDMS readers are unlikely to do this in first place, no good will come out if the concept gets publicized.

I would love to read the comments on such a post though.
