Sure go ahead. For the positive put millions that have health insurance now that never did before. There will be more than enough of you to come up with the negatives.

That might be very subjective. IINM the big medical office in Crown Heights doesn't accept any Exchange plan other than Fidelis, while they do accept most Medicaid plans.

Oxford/UHC who were accurately pricing their offering much higher than all the newcomers, came out with a new Metro network (which is very limited) in order to compete on price.

While far from perfect, I think the 2-50 group health insurance business was functioning decently in NY prior to ACA. I would have adopted that model nationwide with the following modifications:

• Make it available to individuals only, and disallow it as a non-taxable business perk (or make it an individual choice/purchase, that can be paid by payroll deduction, but not have the business involved in the coverage choice), while allowing full top-line deduction for all taxpayers (why should businesses have to deal with something like this? let every business concentrate at what they're best at).
• Encourage more "catastrophic" plans and make them HSA compatible.

No-one knows the future, but there is such thing as actuarial science. Let the actuaries chime in.

I am the first one to acknowledge that we had a broker system, but the approach applied was totally wrong (it did nothing to address the fundamental HEALTH or healthcare cost issues, as opposed to addressing HEALTH INSURANCE issues). If it were so good, why did it need to be rushed through with blatant lies, rather than properly structured and sold to the public? The reason is that IT WAS DESIGNED TO FAIL as a step towards Single Payer (which would have been much harder, if not impossible, to sell).

ACA isn't broken or malfunctioning, it was designed to fail, and the sooner it's thrown out, the better.

Unfortunately for the Rs, it doesn't seem like they have a well thought out plan to replace it. They are failing miserably in Game Tactics (Ds were always better at them).

I would recommend to them putting together a committee of industry experts (including insurance, medical, etc.) to come up with proposals within 90 days. They should also hire some good experts at game theory, so that they have the right strategy in selling and implementing whatever is decided upon.

I, for one, learned something from this though the actual method is much easier than it seems based on the step by step description. The hardest part was deprograming what I've been doing for decades.
