ACA isn't broken or malfunctioning, it was designed to fail, and the sooner it's thrown out, the better.

Unfortunately for the Rs, it doesn't seem like they have a well thought out plan to replace it. They are failing miserably in Game Tactics (Ds were always better at them).

I would recommend to them putting together a committee of industry experts (including insurance, medical, etc.) to come up with proposals within 90 days. They should also hire some good experts at game theory, so that they have the right strategy in selling and implementing whatever is decided upon.

The problem with health insurance, as we call it, is that it is mostly not insurance. Every plan provides coverage for catastrophic illness/injury, chronic illness/injury, and necessary prescription drugs, but also elective medical treatment and elective prescription drugs. Anything that covers elective events is not insurance.

The ACA requires everyone to have both insurance coverage and elective medical coverage. And taxes subsidize those who can't afford the (exorbitant) premiums. The first thing to do is to separate the insurance coverage and the non-insurance coverage into two separate products. I feel strongly that insurance coverage is something everyone is the USA should have whether they can afford it or not, but without automatically including elective medical coverage in the wrap.

The article included Chabad as the shul destination, however the comment was about NY travel for a mikvah. No need when there are upscale locations in/near D.C.

Sure go ahead. For the positive put millions that have health insurance now that never did before. There will be more than enough of you to come up with the negatives.

Please only put in the pro section, things which have real numbers. We know that millions more now have insurance, but all are being forced into it. I want to know how many people wanted insurance, couldn't get it before ACA, and now have it. That's the only number which u can put on the pro side

It was (I hope) a poorly crafted joke about the whole Freundel scandal. And that wasn't Chabad, that was Kesher's former rabbi in the mikva next to Kesher.
