someone is gonna have to spill the beans
Quotes in a signature is annoying, as it comes across as an independent post.
Recently divorced
Lakewood guy wrote seforim (think he headed a kollel at one point), apparently led double life for years dating hundreds of non Jewish girls in NYC and scamming them with assumed identity. He put out a lot of money and effort to hide the search results over the years but Vanity Fair is coming out with an expose.
Before anyone gets all riled up and starts generalizing to other people in Lakewood etc; he's been doing this for a very, very long time and those who know him aren't at all surprised. He's very much an anomaly and quite a unique case.
it's good to be a Lubavitcher
Thankfully he didn't leave his wife an aguna;)
Why only recently divorced when doing this for a dozen years already?
This is so sad. I'm not surprised. I knew him from years ago in yeshiva. A genius. Such a capable guy. If only he used these skills for positive things...
This. Is. Crazy.
It is but not surprising to those who knew him...he always had long hair and was always "out there" even when busy learning...crazy thing is that he married a great all around innocent BY girl who had all these maalos in the world but obviously had no clue what she was dealing with
Interestingly, in the הקדמה to his ספר which he wrote over a decade ago, he quotes the chazal במקום שבעלי תשובה עומדים אין צדיקים גמורים יכולים לעמוד as a מליצה, but perhaps those words will prove to be relevant for him in the literal sense as he takes stock of the path he has gone down and where it has led him.
