Can I book a flight now, apply for the credit card and then later change the payment method so that it gets charged to the jetblue card? I want to get the free baggage which is worth it in this case.

The primary cardmember and up to 3 travel companions on the same reservation each receive their first checked bag free on JetBlue-operated flights that do not otherwise include their first checked bag free. Applies to bookings made on or after 1/11/24. For bookings made before 1/11/24, the fee for the first bag is $35 within 24 hours of departure or $30 if more than 24 hours before departure

I'm thinking I want to make the trip one day shorter, on JetBlue site it's $105 to change

To book the return flight separately is $80

Should have just book it, fly to SF on rt ticket and fly back on New cheaper ticket and ditch paid return ?

I want to cancel but JetBlue won’t offer me Travelbank since it’s a partner flight. They say I get trip credit which I can use to rebook for anyone, but I won’t get back any difference if I switch to a cheaper flight. I’m wondering, if I book a JetBlue flight with this credit, can I then cancel into Travelbank? Any DPs greatly appreciated.
