Train takes about 90 minutes between the 2, car is not much faster if at all. Plus budgeting time for customs, buying train tickets, train, exit customs..

I just booked a Delta ticket MAIN CABIN (L) on Priceline. I checked in, and for the first leg I got a seat, but for the second leg, no seat assigned, and I see that I am standby.
Anything I can do to make sure I snag a seat?
When I check-in for my first leg, will that get me a spot on the second leg? The ticket wasn't cheap, and when i purchased it, I had no idea.
I have no Delta status, but am a SkyMiles member.

Also want to know how an LHR-LCY stop over works? I’m assuming there is some sort of bus that goes between the airports? Any idea how much that costs or if it makes more sense to take an uber/taxi? And I’m assuming I have to collect and re-check luggage?

Think of it as like a connection between two NYC airports - i.e. its not easy

Flew them on LGA-MIA multiple times (back in 2022 when I had free 100K status) and it was always fine.
