Freedom of Religion is still a thing
So if they claim their religion supports what they are doing then you would be ok with it?
Like abortion? ROFLMAO!!!

Yes — for one's personal choices. It's not freedom to inflict something on others.

Speaking of mutilation and religion, are we ready to stop mutilating male infants and children — AKA circumcision ?

Let them decide as adults if and when to do this irreversible mutilating procedure!
Freedom of Religion is still a thing
So you are ok with mutilation and murder as long as a religion is ok with it, got it.  :P

Something so simple that many can't understand.

That's exactly how religion twists otherwise reasonable people.

The associations or professionals?

Anything? Any drs or associations that back it?

WPATH-Radical gender transition activism group
So they quote radicals to prove their point? Why should that be necessary? Just list the known harms with sources.

https://www.city-journal.org/ama-seeks-to-silence-critics-of-radical-gender-medicine
No idea who city journal is, but am I right in saying the gist of the article is we don't trust those organizations on this? Who is the author/journal - what medical establishment/dr's/etc do they trust?

If the harms are so obvious and so clear where are the dr's and medical associations?

The idea is that many of these organizations, who until as recently as 5-10 years ago were singing a very different tune, have been hijacked by radicals with policy positions not agreed to by much of the rank-and-file

Most Americans circumcise their newborn children btw, hardly an exclusively Jewish thing

Sounds a bit conspiratorial, no?
Do we have "rank and file" on record not agreeing?

Because they are routinely accused of slippery slope arguments (It's only for 17 year, 364 day old kids, we would never mean that your 5 year old could be "making" life-altering decisions with the help/encouragement of their kindergarten teacher without the parent's consent) They present some of the current proposals and guidelines from the main trans activist group.

We have been over this hundreds of times. The issue is putting one's beliefs onto others.

The issue we are talking about there is no cut and dry solution. The R's are trying once again to claim the high ground when they are just a bunch of hypocrites. What they have done once again is turn this into a political issue with the children as the casualties.

I expect it to backfire just like the abortion issue.

What happened to the great barrington declaration authors? There is similar pushback here. There are doctors who would love to speak out, but they are afraid.

Just googled the author - Christopher Rufo, from Wikipedia:
Quote
Christopher Ferguson Rufo (born August 26, 1984)[1] is an American conservative activist

Same one?

We have been over this hundreds of times. The issue is putting one's beliefs onto others.
The issue is pitting belief in a religion and morals against the deity of the self. There is no more obvious case of self-worship than that of demanding that reality be changed to fit with my whims. The founding fathers, as stated before, never intended for the country to be run on self worship.
ETA: To bring back a quote from earlier:
We have no government armed in power capable of contending in human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

-John Adams

Yup. Does some great work. Some bias, but usually pretty acurate

Let them decide as adults if and when to do this irreversible mutilating procedure!

Once we equate circumcising with castration let's try to make this ridiculous conversation even more enlightening, like arguing if parents are allowed to pierce the child's ears for earrings, perhaps they should be allowed to conduct assisted suicides too.
