When the Algemeiner Jurnal printed a picture of the Rebbe motioning for people to whistle, there was backlash from people saying whistling is wrong. The Rebbe later asked why the chassidim got embarrassed and weren't able to answer. Then the Rebbe proceeded to source his behavior in Torah, going back layer by layer until he quoted a possuk in Na"ch.

It hasn't changed; it's grown to include more types of people. Chabad also used to be chasidisher people who had immense ahavas yisroel and knew nothing about technology, and now includes people who cr@p on others anonymously on internet forums. It's a new world.

Started my day studying V'yiten lecha 5728 with @Jolu, learned today's Tanya, davened, got an aliya, read Hayom Yom/Sefer Hamitzvos for the shul, learned perek mem tehilim, bought and made a shehechiynu on a persimmon, spoke to a local shliach and rov about how to go about bringing down a new shliach to town.
