Seriously!? THIS is what his main concern is?
"Otherwise the main challenges include finding reasonable positioning flights to Abu Dhabi, and home from London. If needed I can use my own resources for these flights though." He's so nice to "if needed" offer his own resources to take those flights.

I'm a lot more proud of the $24K+ raised here: http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=33265, than for a short flight that will be gone before you even have the chance to sleep for a couple hours.

couldnt agree more with you dan, this guy has a lot of nerve doing this

I'll bet on dinner...

If he's smart he'll fund the KickStart himself for the publicity.

If he gets near 20k he better fund the rest....

It's tough finding F products to Abu Dhabi, and it's wrong to expect him to fly any lower.

I don't think that's what Dan said

I believe the problem there was the "if needed" part.

Another great reason to live in smaller cities in the Midwest.  :) Events are way cheaper.

Surprised that more people here arent bothered by Lucky's kickstarter program.  Obviously he can do whatever he wants and if people want to give then they can.  But asking is still wrong in my opinion.  Wrong meaning something that you shouldnt do.  And all of his soliloquy about it being ridiculous doesnt make it better.  And I will be the first to call absolute BS on him being just as happy if it doesnt get funded.  I completely agree with what that other blog criticized (maybe not the taxes part, who cares about that).
I wonder why these people really need a review of this cabin that they will never fly and know is absolutely awesome.  Yeah, if he was going on it then i would want to know about the experience.  But that others should pay for it just so that he can experience and write about it, I dont get that.

Maybe that's because people here are smart and aren't bothered by things that don't actually effect them?! It's a free world my friend. And as long as he's not exploiting anyone, or doing anything bad, why would you care?

It's crazy? Yes! It definitely is. But there are lots of people doing crazy stuff, that's how the world works. That doesn't make it wrong though.

.
So what exactly bothers you? He's not forcing anyone to pay,  nor will he know which readers did,  and which didnt.

If someone donates, they obviously feel it's worth it for them (the review),  or maybe they just like doing wild things.

Why would they make any difference to you.? If you think it's ridiculous,  then dont donate.

I don't understand why it's ridiculous for him to do such a campaign -  just bec there are crazy people that would donate to it.

What does one have to do with the other?

The only thing that bothers me is the sheer excess of flushing $25K down the drain for a 7 hour flight review that won't apply to any of his readers.  But I don't necessarily fault him for trying.
The backers just enjoy vicariously living through him I suppose.
