Take this as you like.

The Times of Israel reports a hospital director said most COVID-19 patients who died at his institution had approximately a year’s life expectancy.

“Coronavirus was the thing that tipped them over, but to be honest, for most of these patients who died here in Shaare Zedek, the chance is they had a year of life expectancy, not much more,” said Ofer Merin.

Around 1 in 10 Israelis who died from coronavirus succumbed at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where Merin is Director. He told Times of Israel that almost all the institution’s fatalities were both elderly and had other diseases.
What exactly are you trying to prove? A week or two ago you were saying how the number of new patients in serious condition hasn't gone up and so we shouldn't be too concerned about rising positives.

Now the numbers are catching up and the number of those in serious condition is unfortunately rising quickly.

Now this is your new narrative of the week?

Compared to US and India Israel is far better in Covid cases and recovering rate.

Record 1,443 new cases today. Hospitalizations and in serious condition shooting up.

Israeli hospitals can handle up to 600-900 patients in serious condition before a total collapse.

MoH is expecting 300 just from deterioration of existing infections.

There is going to be a total lockdown sooner rather than later.

It's true that the average Covid fatality in Israel is 80 and life expectancy is 82 so the impact thus far is minimal, but that is irrelevant to the caution needed and in Halacha the entire Torah is נדחה to prolong a Jewish life by a minute. And yes, 10,000 shuls should close for that one Jews minute. There is no Halacha to the contrary.

Was there never a chance someone could catch something in shul that would end their life early R”L before Covid can’t around?

No. At least not greater than wherever they were if they avoided Shul. The entire concept of transmittable diseases & sterilization was only discovered 150-200 years ago.

Just want to point out a flaw in your math- while average life expectancy *at birth* is currently 82, *at age 80* your life expectancy is going to be another 10+ years

Not exactly, but close. Male non-smoker (i.e. no rateable conditions) looks like it's just under 10 years.

While female non-smokers are have a life expectancy of almost 12 years at that age.

It is very possible that those dying from COVID-19 have underlying conditions that would make their life expectancy shorter. (Disclaimer: Above is based on US mortality tables).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Doesn't look anything like an arrest for not wearing a mask. Looks more like a custody dispute.

Guidelines for police regarding new regulations:

Now will we see an influx of Davening Studios, Learning Studios, etc.?

Or possibly Davening Museum, Learning Museum, etc.

Funny you mention this. A few months ago I saw a mind boggling stat - that while the average lifespan may be 82, the average 80 year old will live 10 more years. I don’t have a source but I’m pretty sure I saw a good one, and I have no luck googling it. But it kinda makes sense. The average lifespan is calculated taking into account that many people died before 82. Most people that make to 80 will make it well past 82, hence the average of 82.

ETA: Ok maybe I should’ve read the rest of the thread before replying.
