I thought about switching from my current T-Mobile One Plus Promo…
Then thought again 😂

If you have enough discounts, that screen makes no sense.

I posted my $128 bill above, and yet on that same screen (and I'm already on Magenta Max) I see this:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating anyone/everyone should switch to Max. What I was advocating for is existing customers to try to get insider (might be harder now that the formal offer is limited to Max), and also that people with insider and/or free lines consider  a 9-line plan (One, Essentials, Magenta, MagentaMax and others), sometimes adding a single line and/or changing plans, can dramatically cut monthly charges without decreasing plan benefits/features. This is because of how T-mobile structures these plans and applies discounts to them.

Anybody on Magenta First Responder? Is it possible to have the insider discount and/or free lines on that account type? I'm currently on an old Simple Choice plan, basically $190 for 10 lines. For various reasons, I may have to switch it up. It seems like the base price on First Responder bottoms out at $20/line for 6 lines. If I can find some extra takers for lines, I can split into 2 accounts, and then possibly lower the price with other promos in the future.

First Responder is almost a 50% discount on published rates, insider won’t work on any FR plans.

Takers for lines is a risky proposition, could end up being more headache than it’s worth.

The question isn't should it work, it's does it. Sounds like you're saying you know for sure it doesnt?

One of the reasons I might have to switch is that one of the members of my current group has mentioned wanting out. Still waiting to find out details, but I believe the reasons are wanting to add lines (can't go past 10 with current plan) and data cap (4gb high speed). Two 6 line Magenta FR accounts would solve both problems, and have the possibility of lowering costs with future free lines.

First Responders are excluded in the terms:

It’s possible you can get it applied to FR using a supervisor override but that is highly unlikely, my fairly educated guess is (but I’m not sure about it) that their billing system wouldn’t allow it.

Free lines might be a thing of the past with Legere out and T-mobile’s strategy of pushing Max and offsetting it with insider. There might still be free lines but not worth relying on them especially since (per terms for recent LOU offers) you can’t remove paid lines until a year after adding a free line.

That's good info, thanks. I think I'd prob be okay with paying the extra dollar a month per line to upgrade to magenta even if it was just the better data and other perks. Possibility of reducing cost down the line with promos that I just can't get on my current account would only be icing on the cake. Would certainly have to secure homes for the extra 2 line first though.

Anybody on the business plan, and can give me a rough estimate on how much taxes and fees are per line?

I currently have 10 lines, 7 of which are free (one of those 7 is the one-free of a BOGOF). Tempting as this is one more line I can use for device promos at little to no cost.

I think I would just stop by. The issue is that:
- stores will be mobbed
- Employees will lie through their teeth to get you to signup for a line
