You would have loved Peking CLE.
One place 30 years ago is pretty good statistically. Not sure what the statistics have been since.

I don’t understand, the post clearly says that the OK no longer trusts the owner and would be removing their hechsher from the store (which may have caused the closure). How is this an exoneration of the store?
Kashrus is based on trust.
They can be confident that food served there was kosher based on cameras, mashgichim, other controls, etc.
However if they're not 100% trusting of the owner, they will never continue to give a hechsher. And a place like that will never gain back their customer base once rumors like this spread.

What are the ratios of frum vs non frum places that have been proven to have served treif?

The only thing that changed is they asked some questions and now they pull the hechsher?

Have you contacted them? If you're expecting them to issue a statement to that effect, enjoy the wait.
Seems perfectly clear that an investigation has already been done over the past week or else they wouldn't have told GKRF that they are very confident that only kosher food was served.
I’m not so sure. They were going to immediately remove their hechsher (or perhaps persuaded the store to close down), we have no idea what emergency back-room deals they made. I don’t think they assume anyone still has leftover meat they may still be eating from 5 days ago so they just be publicly saving face while they’re sorting out the details. There’s a high bar to clear before you publicly announce that a store has been serving treif. Nothing about what I’ve heard inspires confidence that this was a total misunderstanding and every detail has been Glatt Kosher.

Come on, that’s being naive. What happened now that they suddenly pulled their hechsher after certifying the place for years (decades?)?

I don't think that changes anything in this case.

Sure there are stories unfortunately here or there h”y. But, definetely much much less with a frum owner. Even with the best system in place, if someone wants to get around it there will always be a way. A frum owner at least to some level has his own trustworthiness and it adds one more major level of protection

There is a very small percentage of kosher stores with non-Jewish owners and I don’t know the statistics but unfortunately there most definitely have been plenty of stories in Jewish owned establishments.

To me such a sudden closure seems to be a strange reaction to something that could have been cleared up if his explanation is true.

OK dropped the Hashgacha, they need much a lower threshold than unkosher meat in the kitchen to do so when investigating such allegations. Having the rumors out there + losing the Hashgacha is enough to shut the business down whether there was unkosher chicken in the kitchen or not.

It's relevant to everyone spreading rumors.

I haven't seen anyone other than YS saying that it tells us about the hechsher.

Possibly but they were pretty vague and it sounded to me like they were still investigating and deciding.

Wow an establishment you ate from is under investigation for possibly selling treifos and what you cry for is their good food?

IDK. When I want to taste DW's food, if it tastes really good I jokingly say it doesn't taste kosher. Maybe there actually is a correlation between food tasting really good and not being kosher.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
