Was just there.
The Dead sea forsure people are going, it's very safe.
Up north, depends on the person. Some are going, some are not.

Only like, The greater meron area was hit with a massive barrage of rockets just yesterday... and Tzfas a week before...
Don't look at what stupid oblivious chutznekim are doing, nor what oblivious obtuse "Chareidim" either.
It's a literal (not literary figurative - LITERAL) war zone.

I have a cousin who lives in Maalot - she wont let us come visit bec of the danger. (Why she's not leaving is another question)

Why dont y'all go on a stroll through Ramala?

In terms of arabs, more or less yes.
Can't speak for local small crime.
Nuclear warheads on the other hand... ;D

What's the actual chance they are kept there?
Everyone plays the shell game
Make a big obvious dome and tell everyone they are in one place and actually place them somewhere else

The warheads themselves? No chance.
It's pretty clear that the reactor is probably there...

Was just stating the facts, that a lot of tourists are still going up north to the Meron area.
The way I understand, that unless you get struck by a direct hit from a rocket, there's no other real safety issue. Now what are the statistical chances of that happening. When was the last time, someone got hurt in the Meron area by a direct rocket hit. Again, I'm not saying that it's 100% safe, but I wouldn't say that anyone who goes there is stupid. Statistically, there's probably more chance of being injured in a car accident on the way up there, (or to be trampled while being there,) than to be hit by a rocket due to the war - whilst there.
When there's a thunder storm, do you not go outside because of the chance of being hit directly from the lightning? I'm not saying that the chances of being hit directly by a rocket are the same as that, but I don't think it's so far off.
I personally am a more "scared" and cautious type of person, so I didn't go up north when I was recently in Israel, but I definitely wouldn't say that anyone who does go, has to be "oblivious" or "obtuse". I think that's a little harsh.

There is another huge park, very similar to Yarmut. In Dalet, the entire neighborhood basically surrounds a valley with a small stream running through it. There are playgrounds every so often, plenty of picnic places, and bathrooms. Also, very easy to access multiple buses to/from Yerushalayim (600 and 619) and you're never more than a 5 minute walk from a store.

having hard time to make a decision on this so figured id ask what's more recommended by the oilam as far as a IL family trip with the current situation-  early Summer or Sukkos?

some the thoughts going thru my head:
the kids are ages 3-9 yo so i need to have some sorts of activities for them.
We spent 2.5 weeks there last summer (amazing time) but the current situation wont really allow us to do much of what we did and didn't do up north and down south.
flights are half price in summer.
if we go summer it would be 3 weeks total while working one week while there vs sukkos only 2 weeks maybe work 1 or 2 days
40% of sukkos trip would be YT/shabbos
Better chance to IYH win/end war by sukkos than by summer
Never been there for sukkos w fam- Simchas bais hashoeva, birkas kohanim, YT atmosphere would make it more ruchniyos trip than summer would be.

I know I cant go wrong with either but which way should I lean towards and why?

Summer is HOT during the day
Unless you're doing a hotel style program where all you need to do is show up enough time before shkiya to have a shower, you need to count erev shabbos/yt in the days of shabbos/yt cheshbon.
Sukkos here is a balagan - run here, run there but an experience - plan it well, in advance and you and at least the older kids should have a blast.
You will be more focused on your kids w/o the tech over shabbos/yt. not distracted by work etc...

Personaly I like pesach here best of all the YT

bh for YT/shabbos (Its a 3 day YT/shabbos) i have family that we will stay by so i dont count that as half days.

Summer is HOT during the day
its hot everywhere so its not a factor in the decision making

Agree. Less Americans here = not getting distracted by all the American mishigasim and able to appreciate Eretz Yisroel more

Coming with a family for a simcha B'H.

We'll be staying in Yerushalayim and we need Shabbos meals, what's the cheapest options? I know takeout is one option but are there any restaurants/hotels that offer meals?

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Kosher restaurants aren't allowed to be open on Shabbos in Israel.

Most of the hotels offer Shabbos meals.
