The new Sienna is very nice for driving bunches of small children around efficiently. But the redesign really ruined a lot of the usability/versatility of minivans. The non-removable, non-foldable middle row kills cargo hauling. The width of the back gate is constricted, now cannot fit objects 4' wide (e.g. sheet of plywood, etc). Shoulder and head room in the back row (due to the new design curvature) is inadequate for adult sized humans and uncomfortable even for middle-school sized children. The console in the front is too big, non-removable, and makes it very difficult to climb to the back (admit it, this is something you've needed to do as a parent).

The fact that Siennas are all hybrid now is a huge advantage over Odyssey- Honda can't seem to do a good job on hybrids.

It's a pleasure to drive and less expensive than the Odyssey. But it (deliberately) lost some of the multi-purpose utility that minivans always had, which might be a big turn off depending on what you expect to use your minivan for. The larger and more versatile Odyssey seems to have retained those advantages, so as usual personal preference is a big part of the choice.

My previous car was a Sienna and I now drive an Odyssey. I made that decision because I believed the Sienna Hybrid wouldn't be powerful enough for a fully loaded van (not just young kids).  I can tell you that I definitely liked the Toyota better. One side benefit for the Honda (in Brooklyn) is the availability of Bay Ridge Honda for service, which is by far better than Plaza (which is a dealer for almost any brand one can think of). Pre pandemic they had night and weekend service hours which was super convenient.

Overall I would rate the Toyota driving experience better than Honda (also gas mileage is better).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

It's a minivan with an SUV look. Very nice!

When that comes with a 4th row to the US I'd definitely consider it.

when they start selling this model in the US, it'll be the next jewish car

every second person in lakewood will have it!

Kis is far ahead of the others in terms of technology and value. Others have the brand name and history of reliability.

Compared to autopilot, definitely garbage. Some are very similar to Tesla's autosteer though.

Not at all, Hyundai's and Kia's have been holding up very well. They have been slowly creeping into the coveted reliability category reserved for Toyota and Honda.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Dan- thanks for the MS reference to my post! Glad you think its helpful. (Thanks ckmk47 too for the feedback)

I have a Sienna XLE with Plus package and 8 seats. Has almost all the features of the Limited trim as far as I know (except no HUD and seats are only heated not ventilated).

Power is not an issue. On normal driving mode the acceleration is diminished to improve efficiency, but in Sport mode it has more power than other minivans (though it will affect your MPG)

The lane assist is good for self driving. Not great and certainly not close to Tesla. If you hang a water bottle on the steering wheel it can self drive fairly well but the driver has to pay close attention. It loses control taking curves in the road (at 65mph it handles most normal curves, but at higher speeds it has a much lower success rate).

So, overall would you recommend the older style Siennas (assuming the price/newness ratio would be equal) or do the new features outweigh the issues?

I like the older Sienna style much better. If they still made that model and offered hybrid engine it would be a no brainer imo

The older Sienna is the most spacious minivan out there.
