A couple guys came around knocking on doors in my neighborhood, they identified themselves as being from Solstice Community Solar and said they were partnering up with JCPNL etc and were going to save me 20% on my bill. Something to do with a solar farm in Toms River

They said they need to see my bill so I went to get it for them but then was advised by google to never show my bill to a stranger so I sent them packing.

Are they legit?

I don't know about Solstice, but you can save 21% in JCP&L with community solar as was discussed here.

What in your opinion @YitzyS is the motivation to appeal to the supreme court? Last we thought it was because they didn't want to go to a new trial and be compelled to turn over the full Exhibit F. But they have since been required to turn it over to the defense. So what's the motivation now?

I think the responses were on point, so I'm not going to elaborate.

I will just note that they didn't get the full Exhibit F yet, because they only gave a clean copy. It is possible that the judge will still compel them to give the original copy with all their notes if a new trial takes place.

Some people (especially arrogant prosecutors and politicians) don't know how to back down and cut their losses. This is their only option to save that guilty verdict they got. Going for a retrial is accepting that the guilty verdict was vacated.

Lakewood guy wrote seforim (think he headed a kollel at one point), apparently led double life for years dating hundreds of non Jewish girls in NYC and scamming them with assumed identity. He put out a lot of money and effort to hide the search results over the years but Vanity Fair is coming out with an expose.

It only requires intellegence and delving into intricacies, and is only a difficult topic when truth is on the agenda. It is very easy to pull out lines and make up svaros if truth is not a requirement.

Did you go through it? Or are you also biased about that story?

I didn't go through the sefer, and I can understand why people are dismissing it (they're on the other side of that story), but I can personally attest to his genius. I've handeled in learning with him - he's a baal kishron of the highest caliber.

I guess I should clarify that it is not based on any knowledge at all about him or his writings but rather a general opinion about what I've seen about agenda driven writings on other complex topics. IME the more complex the topic is the fewer people there are who are capable of understanding whether something agenda driven is really meaningful or not. I am definitely not familiar enough with that topic to give an opinion about it.
