Indeed, but it has become so lengthy and detailed, that it might be more beneficial to split it up (and maintain a reference pointer to the split thread, possibly even summarizing the issues).

He collected 300k
That 300k went to Nigeria

Is it titled as stealing ? Yes he owes the money
But you’re saying every business transaction that doesn’t turn into a profit is stealing.
Does he have the money now ? How was he going to pay the hotel to honor the contract ?

I'm still looking for possible scenario which will make him not guilty, so far I haven't found any. The only question that really lies is what he's guilty for.
