How do we get CTeen to run Chidon?

*CKids. The key is that they listen to their "customers" and run programs they actually need.

*JewQ, it's actually this Shabbos, not in CH.

To run the program, I don't think they could contract them out, but for the Shabbaton, easy, hire the person the runs so many of the big events, like the kinus etc

March 2020 was definitely due to covid, but after that covid didn't exist in ch

Sure. Post COVID (which might have hit much harder OOT) there's more demand for these kinds of things. So indirectly related to COVID.

I don't think this is such an issue now, but for a quite a while there seemed to be concern about the optics of these gatherings, even if nobody involved was fearful of COVID.

Indeed. Non-issue at this point. But just think about the emotional, mental and social stress that OOT had to endure for so long due to COVID, I am sure that creates increased demand.

There was a Kinus, CTeen shabbaton, and jewq which are far bigger deals optics wise

That just depends where you kid falls in on the spectrum of inclusion.

If now 500 more tri-state kids participate but 50 OOT kids don't, it's a win for them.

Yes.
If you heard the director's speech in previous years, it was clearly heading in this direction.
Now that all the mandates are lifted, no one is worried about it anymore at all.

Got this for Rafi. Sums up a year of frustration about this poorly run organization and their support for Anash Kinder. Which is a shame as Rafi loved learning about all the mitzvos and their halachic minutiae, which is a massive black hole in Jewish education.
