I heard a story of a very Chashuva Chabad Rabbi.
Somehow, I know that like by every Chabad story folks try to correct or add spices to it, I politely decline however.
Here goes:
Arik Sharon visited the Rebbe and asked him:"If it's a good thing to go live in Israel, why doesn't the Rebbe - as a leader - move to Israel and so automatically the chasidim will follow suit?"
The Rebbe responded:"Sometimes the leader must go last. A captain is the last one to abandon the ship when all are saved."
