This deal might just be lumped together with the other huge stain on his legacy called the "Shalit Deal". In both cases he buckled to the cynical pressure put on him by his haters who used kidnapped people for demonstrations.

Israel has been telling them they have all the leverage. As soon as Israel admitted they’ll come to the table for a discussion on 50 hostages, Hamas has been pushing the envelope on what they can get in exchange for that.

Going to be very difficult. Decades of bad policy (Shalit deal being the most glaring one) has led to this.  [Gitin 45a.] Although without the release of all hostages, they will restart.
