The pri magidam and essentially the rema say one can purchase לכתחילה something made in a אינו בן יומו. Since it’s already made it bleibs בדיעבד. This is true even if you have an alternative elsewhere. I don’t see why this would be different.
Rabbi Heineman is probably לשיטתו regarding coffee where he makes this distinction. Many people have difficulty understanding it.

אינו בן יומו is different because the issur lchatchila is a gzeira about cooking it, and once it's done there is no issur on the food. Not so much because it's bdieved. In other words: one can lchatchila eat something that was made in אינו בן יומו. Some hechsherim rely on this on factories iinm because the goy does not have the gzeira

However AFAIK if there is clear undisputed bitul without כוונתו לבטל problems there is zero reason not to purchase it.

The נודע ביהודה is talking about where we know בוודאות that the vessel was used for treif that day.
As per the CRC report that is not the case in a Starbucks

The mix powder is.
Individual stores need hashgocha.
Some have.
