Poupko spent time in Lakewood but left to get a graduate degree at Yeshiva University in Upper Manhattan, and now teaches at Park East Day School on the Upper East Side. The rabbi expected to be on the receiving end of torrential hate from the Haredi community after so passionately calling them out in the Israeli paper of record. Instead, he got crickets. BMG did not respond to a request for an interview with Rosh Yeshiva Malkiel Kotler. But Poupko did hear from a Lakewood man who had something to tell him: His nephew has seen him recently, as AD is apparently still showing up at yeshiva.
