This has nothing to do with KD but if your point is that there are issues that need to be fixed in Lakewood, you wont get an argument from me.

I don't really want to derail this thread but since you asked, the issues with getting kids into school is mostly a space issue. Parents that apply to a few schools that are a good fit for their family have a pretty good chance at getting in smoothly. As the greater Lakewood area continues to grow and become more diverse more schools will likely open that will cater to other demographics but until that happens, conforming to the yeshiva community standards is also very helpful.

In every circle I’ve been a part of, someone that stops keeping Shabbat or kosher would be considered OTD even if they wear a white shirt. Not sure what your agenda is.

Ofc if the public knows about them not keeping shabbos, unlike KD that nobody knew
I have no agenda my point was the KD wasn't considered OTD until he was exposed, vs your typical "Lakewood OTD"

Obviously no one would consider someone OTD if no one knows that the person is OTD.

My comment was about this post, point being that it's not an OTD who did these things, it was a supposedly frum yeshiva guy doing it.

Case closed

He's an individual, one of many thousands of BMG alumni. He played no public role. He didn't author popular kids books. He didn't write a column in a major Jewish newspaper. He went OTD, unfortunately he's not the first one.  Its an absurd expectation that BMG should issue an official press release regarding his actions.

I'm finished with this thread but I just want to say this.

The YU crowd always deals with a superior attitude by the Lithuanian yeshiva mentality.

As a result, YU might find it becoming to point out BMG related sins

Greater the man, greater the sin.. Moshe rabeinu's sin in hitting the rock was tiny.. in fact, prior to that incident, a prior time hashem did tell Moshe to hit the rock... But it was a lack of faith in God's word in speaking to the rock this time.

Everyone from Lakewood is saying it's a non issue, the guy's a nobody, he's a pariah etc .

As the author notes, not so, he is a somebody who he shares a name with .

Should he be called out ? I dunno... But the frum world always seems to call out anyone they disagree with...

If people need to be informed that something is wrong, it needs to be called out. I don't think anyone needs to be informed that this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

I'm not responding to your post but to this claim. As if sharing a name with someone or being related to someone is proof of anything. Guilt by association, involuntary association even more so, is such a vicious baseless claim, that it's a wonder an editor didn't read that and urge the author to remove it. It's the type of claim that would be decried as racist or bigoted when made by someone on "the other side". Legitimate criticism is often dismissed with the claim, "They're just haters". But this absurdity reveals the true motivation and intent behind any other claim is indeed pure bitter hatred.
