I’m not sure if the case you cite is comparable, that one is lechatchila with food that is known to be treif. This is bdieved with food that was presumed to be Kosher.

If it was revealed to be a 100% treif? In both cases it was treif with no sin.

It left doubt for me. Which is why I am here, dissecting their statement. But thank for clearing that up.

The situation is distressing enough, the least they can do is offer some transparency.

Transparency would be nice, but they have to communicate effectively and perhaps some damage control too (if it’s anything that could make them look bad or like they failed at their job, more than what has come out already). In any case I’m confident more details will be forthcoming in due time, from them or otherwise.

If the guy was serving treif the books might be cooked too, you’d have to be able to confirm invoices with suppliers.

I would expect that to be SOP (at least on a random periodical audit).
