Why not claim from the airlines directly also??
My daughter flew on Air France from DFW-TLV with a stopover in CDG. Second suitcase (which we paid $100 baggage fee for) never arrived. CSR told her on the phone that it's considered delayed until after 21 days and that she has a $100 allowance to spend on essentials until then. After 21 days she will be paid separately for lost bag.
Now they're saying max they'll pay is $1,697 and that includes whatever she spent on essentials. To add insult to injury they won't even refund the $100 bag fee.
Is there anything to be done here? value of the contents of the bag was probably closer to $4,000
Update: As I said, Air France gave us $1,697. Chase's insurance is still sending us around in circles 2 months later.
I'm stuck on this $100 bag fee just for the principle of it :) how can Air France refuse to refund the bag fee when they lost the bag??
Shouldn't they have to refund that at the very least?

Why don’t you simply dispute the charge since they failed to provide the service you paid for?

I flew tlv-mad-nyc, and 2 out of the 4 of my luggage's were delayed, so I filed a claim at the airport and they told me to buy any clothing needed and I'll be compensated, now that I've received the luggage (btw the luggage arrived after I was back in EY) I sent my invoices and they only paid me back about 20%, How should I proceed?
TIA

Cross posting for the compensation aspect

Was flying UA short haul CPU eligible. Got upgraded morning of. Companion wasn’t, although she was naturally right after me on the list. She was removed from the list altogether and around another 4-5 people after me also cleared, (Started as a pretty booked flight with only 2 open in FC and in all maybe 6-7 cleared) Meaning she definitely would have cleared as she was next after me. They said booking was split off once I was upgraded and so not attached to me at all and therefore not on upgrade list.

Obviously Ewr gate agents were to incompetent to even put her back on at the gate, something I’ve done many times in the past when on separate reservations and flying with a companion. Has anyone had this in the past? Could it be every time there’s only one available seat at time of upgrade the companion will automatically loose out? That doesn’t sound right. Not sure that’s actually what happened. I suspect there were another 2 people after me on the list upgraded at the same time. This could be a simple glitch. Compensation? Anyone with a similar situation?

My friend (with little aviation experience) was bumped off a Westjet flight. They told him that flight was cancelled due to technical issues and put him on a connecting flight arriving 9 hours later !

However upon researching it shows the flight left early !

Where is best to pursue bumped flight compensation in U.S.or Canada ?

Anybody to point me in the right direction for getting compensation from Emirates? Had a JFK-MXP booked with skymiles, and they canceled the flight about 6 hrs before. Didn't offer anything other then rebooking me for next day, or refund of my miles. I missed my connecting flight, and had to buy another circular route ticket to make it in time to the simcha i was traveling for. IS there any way for me to get something other then a refund?

If I'm not mistaken, should be eligible for EU compensation.
