I've been told to stay away from there as its not what it's cracked up to be (disappointing). Was told "roza's" is epically good (it's rabbanut, but ive beeb told by somone i trust that the meat itself is apparently a good hechsher, and its ok to eat there)

What hechsher is the meat? (maybe good for you isn't good for another)

Why am I mentioning this? Because it is worth noting that as far as the branch is concerned, you are a gold mine. You are a steady customer binging them the better part of $1k in revenue per month. Couple that with being a friendly guy, and they will treat you like royalty. I've had cases where I booked an A and drove out in an F, or where I returned a car six hours late and the manager authorized them to override the computer and not charge me an extra day. I've rented minivans for half the price, and had them hold specific cars for me even when other paying customers wanted them.

Remember, you are not some schnorrer who has to feel self-conscious that you are "taking them for a ride" because of all the points you are getting. The employees all know exactly what I'm doing, and not only don't they have a problem with it, they actually admire me for it. And when I'm one of their best customers... what's not to like? ;D

Care to share what branch u use?

Sam Bagels Ate at the one on Paran several times. Decent food but insanely overpriced (5 bucks for a cream cheese bagel, $2 for a cookie). If you just want eggs, go down the block to...

They are a bit expensive but this ain't NY here. On average a bagel with cream cheese goes for 16 NIS which is about $4.25

gr8 post...how long do you spend at the branch every few days dealing with the rental exchange?

Me? Generally less than 10 minutes. Other people? Not so quick...

True... let's just say, it helps to have friends in high places. :D

Did you have those friends before you started seeing them every other day?  Or you became friends eventually?
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

nice post!

Thank you. :)

Was it worth waiting for? ;)

at what point are you attaching your m&m number?   if it's automatically connected to your wizard number and you need to switch accounts every other rental period, that would mean you can't book the next one until you finish the first one and change out the number, no?

Forgot that little detail... to simplify matters, I have two Wizard numbers. Each has the AWD on it, and each has a different M&M number. When Noach makes my reservation, it has the AWD and the M&M number on it already. I just have to make sure to keep track, and give Noach the right Wizard each time.

also, you sure yaari isn't authorized for the zikuy shabbat?    usually use em for my rentals

AFAIK, most agents can give zikuy shabbat on the Israeli/shekel codes (ZP/ZQ/ZY), but not on the American/dollar codes (HC/HE/HZ/0B). The Israeli codes do not (reliably) give miles.

Great post Moishe!

Thank you. :)

Like I asked yare... was it worth waiting for? :P

I'm curious why their miles are worth so much. Dont they charge YQ? Is their award chart unusually generous?

Yes, they charge a crapload of YQ. But their value lies in booking LH/LX First awards in advance (they are generally not available to partners, like MileagePlus, more than 14 days before the flight), as well as expanded overall availability on those airlines for people booking with M&M miles.

gr8 post moish

If you read the two previous posts, you know exactly what I'm gonna say now. ;)

so why the tus tus?

I drive the bike, my wife drives the car. Yes, we're a two-car household. ;D

Also...
for areas with little or no parking
... as well as incredible gas mileage, no sitting in traffic, and just the general awesome feeling of zooming down a hill at 40-50 MPH with the wind whipping against my face. 8)

Did you have those friends before you started seeing them every other day?  Or you became friends eventually?

It definitely got significantly better once I started being a steady customer. But you know me... I'm the one who you asked if there's a single place where I'm not friends with the manager. :D

Problem is, workers keep leaving, and new ones keep coming, so I have to keep pace and make sure they all know me well, and understand the process of what I'm doing. Can't put all my eggs in one basket - you never know when the day will come when just the worker I happen to be on good terms with will be out sick, quit, or get fired. I learned that the hard way... more than once. :( Though at this point, I tease the workers that I am at Avis longer than every single one of them. ;D

:o  For real?  I don't understand, bread and cheese are both cheaper in IL than in NYC.

Prices are set by a single thing. Supply/demand. There's more competition for bagels in America, and as L'Chaim points out theres more demand at that price point than there is in America.
