This thread may have produced more spinoff threads than any other thread.
Plus this entire thread *is* a spin-off of the Lakewood thread, which is still the most viewed thread on DDF.

And that, my friends, is all you need to know.

Through more suitable parnassa. You sometimes listen or witness utter dumbness by those professionals and wonder how in the world are they professors and not uber drivers.

First off I received a quality education.  2nd, perhaps your Secular Education didn't include creative writing. Because if it did, I would think you would be familiar enough with literature to know that a paragraph preceded with the words "START RANT" will not follow typical grammatical rules. I guess you have never been inside a public high school. Total lack of respect for anything, yet it is definitely not "a direct result of the mesivtos' education and attitudes".

I guess we're down to comparing our mesivtos to public schools.

Why can't we compare them say to other towns mesivtis or private schools?

Is this education or common sense?

Where can we find this in literature? What literary rule tells us that START RANT won't follow grammatical and spelling rules?

Because rants are said in one breath. Punctuation and paragraphs imply pauses, which are not allowed in rants.

They are? Where can I find this as a literary rule? Does this include spelling too?

The most common case of this "rule" is poetry.  The reason for that is because poetry is not expected to follow hard rules. Most people would understand that preceding a paragraph with "START RANT" would indicate that the paragraph will not follow "rules". There were also plenty of novels, written by literary greats such as William Faulkner, Lewis Carroll and James Joyce, that did not follow the "rules"

To clarify, you think patients should NOT take chemo now?

Oh wow, I started typing that I wasn't sure how you got that when I said the exact opposite, but then I reread my post you quoted and there is a huge typo/omission. I was saying that even something as life saving and vital as chemotherapy, something someone who needs it should undoubtedly take, will hopefully soon be considered an evil treatment because we will have treatments that don't cause as much damage to the patient.

I have a close relative is currently going through chemo right now and it is saving his life. It has also come very close to killing him. It's not even a question whether he should be continuing the treatment.
