Where are all the Schnall skeptics now? This was the platform he ran on, and it did not take long to get the bill introduced with a solid number of sponsors. A long way from getting passed and language will likely look very different if/once it does. But this is still a meaningful first step.
Can only speak for myself, I am a "Schnall skeptic" who nonetheless voted for him precisely because the powers behind him deserve a chance to try and make this happen, no matter how farfetched it is to think it could actually happen in a meaningful way. Nevertheless, I am and will be thrilled to be wrong, with full congratulations to Avi and those supporting him for any accomplishments in this area. I would caution however as many have pointed out, that there is still a long, long way to go, as similar bills to this have been introduced in the past, and have eventually merely gone on to die a natural death and not even come close to getting passed/signed into law. Like I said, would be thrilled to be proven overly pessimistic, and can't wait for that to happen.
