I'm at Luciana in Mamilla and IMO their breakfast buffet is better than Rimon.

Luciana is much better than Rimon in any meaning

p.s. i'm friend with the owner , but it's nothing to do with the above .

What are you suggesting?

My guess is that he is suggesting that Landa is a better hechsher than the Eida, and Hachalban got a "downgrade" due to to messing something up with Landa, and the Eida is getting "broken merchandise", since they're not as superior.

I understood that.
I'm wondering where he's getting his top secret, know better, info from, because it sounds ludicrous.

this whole line of discussion is a joke, since everyone here heard from their "top" source that x hashgacha really has this problem, while everyone else heard from their "top top" source that really the other one has the problem. honestly it sounds like a bunch of little kids fighting over whose father is bigger.

in terms of the facts though...
Even in the US meat companies strive to find another hechsher besides OU.

Say what you like, stay ignorant if you so wish, however you're welcome to post if you know anything that might imply to contradict what I wrote.  If you're familiar at all in the field of Kashrus, you'd know that in this field it is all about the sources you know.
Yes, it definitely is very unfortunate that it is that way, but things are very not transparent and nothing very little is talked about publicly.  If you want to blindly dig your head in the sand, you can do that as well, however just keep in mind that this is the food that you are eating, we're not talking about himmel zachen.

As far as
in terms of the facts though...
As the saying goes der oilem iz a goilem etc. etc. etc.
The reason is probably because many don't like some kullos that the OU uses...  Others are supposedly more machmir.

there is no mainstream hechsher in Israel that comes anywhere near R' Landau.  They all say he's top top, just the metziyus.
Just a FYI for those not familiar, R Landau is a lubavithcer.

On a side note, I know people who won't drink Coca-Cola because of that.

?האי מאי  How'd that come in?  Are you hinting something? ::)
On a side note, I know people who won't drink Coca-Cola because of that.
I've had the (misforune?! ;)) to meet many of such, and those same people will tell you that it's solely politically motivated, and they"ll agree that there's no match to Landau (not including small/city hechsherim).
You know that very well, and that still leads you to say..
And there is nobody alive who is both fully knowledgeable and not biased.
Therefore?
(Again, are you trying to hint at s/t?)

I have no doubt, in the teeny tiny brain of mine, that the spiritual damage wrought by kashrus battles far outweigh the spiritual damage caused by the reliance on a kulah or two.
